André Parmentier returned to the Olympics in 1920, 12 years after his first appearance, winning one medal at each occasion. In Paris in 1924 he was a member of the free rifle team but did not compete. Between 1908 and 1922 he won 10 medals at the World Championships in free rifle events, 8 with the team and 2 individually. Parmentier served as a sergeant major in the 57th Infantry Regiment. In 1930, he became secretary-general of the International Sport Shooting Federation (then called the Union Internationale de Tir [UIT]), holding this position until 1939, when activities were suspended due to World War II.
