Amy FULLER

Amy Fuller had a long career on the US national team, rowing at three Olympics (1992-2000), and eight World Championships. Fuller won a silver medal in the four at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. She won a gold medal in the eight at the 1995 Worlds, and won six silver medals at the Worlds – eight in 1993-94, 1998-99, and the four in 1993-94. She also competed at the Goodwill Games, the Lucerne International Regatta, and the Henley Royal Regatta, winning three golds at Lucerne.

In 1993, Fuller was named US Rowing Female Athlete of the Year. In 1995 she worked as a starboard aft grinder for the all-female America3 boat that challenged for the America’s Cup. Fuller rowed in college at UC Santa Barbara. In 1990 she was named the school’s Athlete of the Year, and in 2006, she was a member of the inaugural class in UC Santa Barbara Recreational Sports Hall of Fame.

Fuller became a rowing coach, starting in 1996 as an assistant at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga, where she did graduate studies, eventually earning a masters’ degree in education. She also was an assistant with the US national team in 1997. From 1998-2000 Fuller was an assistant coach at San Diego State University. She was certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as a Health Fitness Instructor and was a US Rowing certified coach.
