Biografia

Walter Lemos was among the top Argentine distance runners of the late 1950s, often battling his countryman, Osvaldo Suárez. Lemos set multiple national records at distances from 3,000 to 30,000 metres. His top international performance came in placing seventh in the 1959 Pan American Games marathon. Lemos also won the 1957 South American Championships in both the 10K and half-marathon, finishing second to Suárez at that meet in 1956 in the 10K and half-marathon, and in 1958 in the 5,000 and 10,000.
