Tim Caldwell skied for the Putney School in Vermont, and later for Dartmouth, where he graduated with a degree in history in 1977. He eventually competed in cross-country skiing for the United States at four Winter Olympics and three World Championships. He won several US Championships, winning at every distance. After graduating from Dartmouth, Caldwell attended Georgetown Law School, earning a law degree. He settled back near Hanover, New Hampshire where he practices law, concentrating on estate planning and administration. He also has continued to compete in masters ski racing.
