Peter Donlon took the stroke-oar for the Cal/Berkeley eight that won the IRAs, the Olympic Trials, and the Olympic Games in 1928. In 1932 he helped coach the Cal crew that again won the gold medal at the Olympics. Donlon was from a California family who were pioneers in citrus farming in Northern California. He started out in the family business but later became a contractor, owning his own tile company
