Biografia

Matt Scoggin was a platform diving specialist who competed at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, a few years after winning a silver medal on platform at the 1987 Pan American Games. Scoggin also won a platform bronze at the 1990 Goodwill Games. Scoggin was US Olympic Festival Champion for three consecutive years (1989-91), and was US Champion both indoors and outdoors in 1989, winning again outdoors in 1990. He also won the HTH Classic on platform in 1989-90. Scoggin had a long career as a member of the US National Team from 1980-82 and 1984-92.

A diver in college at the University of Texas, Scoggin started coaching in 1986 for the Longhorn Diving Club. He became head coach of the Texas Diving Club in 1993 and in 1994 became the head coach at his alma mater. Scoggin coached the Longhorns for over 20 years, winning numerous coach of the year honors, both in the conference and nationally. He was USOC National Diving Coach of the Year in both 2009-10. In 2010 he coached TeamUSA at the FINA World Cup. Scoggin's divers have claimed over 20 individual NCAA championships, and over 40 individual conference titles.
