Biografia

Lech Drogosz competed at three consecutive Olympics starting in 1952, winning a welterweight bronze medal in 1960. At the European Championships, Drogosz was far more successful, winning light-welterweight titles in 1953 and 1955 and a welterweight title in 1957. He also won eight Polish titles, in 1953 in light-welterweight and in 1954-55, 1958, 1960-61, 1964 and 1967 as a welterweight. In 1953 Drogosz was selected as the Polish Sportsperson of the Year, and finished his career in 1967 with a record of 363 wins in 377 bouts. After finishing his boxing career, Drogosz had a successful acting career, acting in more than 15 movies, including in two Andrzej Wajda movies “Hunting Flies” (Polowanie na muchy, 1969) and “Landscape After the Battle” (Krajobraz po bitwie, 1970).
