Biografia

Kirchmayer was born in Poland, but moved during his school years to Transsylvania (today Romana) and later to Budapest. He was trained as a naval officer and served with the Royal Flotilla in Budapest. As an athlete he represented the Magyar Athletikai Club in Budapest. Kirchmayer played singles and doubles at the 1924 Olympics, losing in straight sets in the first round of both events. He was partnered by Lajos Göncz in the doubles. During World War II, Kirchmayer joined the Army and served as company commander in Budapest and in Szombathely. After the war he worked for the Minerva textile company.
