Biografia

Judd Bankert was a US citizen who worked in Detroit as a certified public accountant (CPA). In 1981 he moved to Guam and worked as a computer consultant. When the Guam Olympic Committee looked to find someone to compete at the Winter Olympics, Bankert volunteered to learn cross-country skiing. He moved to Bellingham, Washington where he trained for a year with the Western Washington University cross-country ski team, and later trained in West Yellowstone, Montana with the US Biathlon team. Bankert lived in Guam briefly after the 1988 Winter Olympics, but soon returned to the United States. He settled in Staunton, Virginia where he works as a CPA. In 1996 he organized Klondike Bound, a month-long expedition of fathers and daughters to re-trace the route taken by the original Klondike Stampeders. He works with the Albemarle County Historic Preservation Committee and has become known for his re-enactments of US President Woodrow Wilson, working with the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library’s living history program.
