Biografia

Right winger Jere Lehtinen started his career with his hometown team Espoo Blues (then named Kiekko-Espoo) in 1989 and played there until 1993. In 1993 he moved to Turun Palloseura (TPS) and won the Finnish title with them in 1995. Lehtinen was drafted by the Minnesota North Stars of the NHL in 1992 and joined the Dallas Stars (successor to the Minnesota North Stars) in 1995, playing with them until his retirement in 2010. With the Stars, Lehtinen won the Stanley Cup in 1999, and Frank J. Selke Trophy (best defensive forward) in 1998, 1999 and 2003, was elected to the NHL All-Star Game in 1998 and 2002, was elected as Rookie of the Month in February 1996 and Dallas Stars Rookie of the Year in 1996. Internationally, Lehtinen is one of the most decorated Finnish hockey players, winning Olympic silver in 2006 and Olympic bronzes in 1994, 1998 and 2010. He was World Champion in 1995 and won World Championships silvers in 1992, 1994 and 2007, and also won a silver at the 2004 World Cup.
