Born in Alaska, Hilary Lindh was named to the US Ski Team when she was only 14. When she was 16, she won the US downhill title and a week later, added the World Junior downhill title. Primarily a power skier, and a premier glider who specialized in downhill, Lindh won a gold in downhill at the 1997 World Championships, after placing third at the 1996 Worlds, in addition to her Olympic downhill silver medal. During her 11 years on the World Cup circuit, Lindh had three wins, five podium placements, and 27 top ten finishes. Lindh retired after the 1997 World Cup season, and settled in British Columbia, Canada.
