Biografia

George Stransky attended Stanford University and competed for the Olympic Club of San Francisco. He was on AAU champions in both 1965 and 1966, making All-American both years. He was elected to the US Water Polo Hall of Fame in 1984. After college Stransky attended Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, earning his MD degree. He then did a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Baylor. He first worked as a US Army battalion surgeon and practiced at the School of the Americas in Panama. In 1980 he settled in Anchorage, Alaska, starting an ob-gyn practice, with a specialty in female gynecologic cancer. He also has served as a professor of ob-gyn at the University of Washington. Stransky later started masters swimming and participating in triathlons, completing the Ironman Triathlon eight times.
