Delisa Ann WALTON-FLOYD

Delisa Walton-Floyd was primarily an 800 metre runner who competed at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. She was a silver medalist in the 800 at the 1987 Pan American Games and won a silver medal in the 4x400 relay at the 1981 Universiade. Walton-Floyd competed at the World Championships in 1987 and 1991, but did not get past the semi-finals either time.

Walton-Floyd had a very long career. She was US Champion in the 800 in 1982 and 1991. She placed fifth at the US Championships in 1980 and seventh in 1997. She was runner-up at the US Nationals in 1986-87 and runner-up at the 1988 US Olympic Trials. Walton-Floyd ran for the University of Tennessee, winning the 1982 NCAA title at 800 metres.

Delisa Walton married Stanley Floyd, who never competed at the Olympics. However, Stanley Floyd would have been favored in the 100 metres at the 1980 Moskva Olympics, winning the NCAA title, the TAC Meet, and the US Olympic Trials, and was world ranked #1 that year. Their daughter, Ebonie Floyd, finished sixth at the 2008 US Olympic Trials in the 400, and made the US team for Beijing, but did not compete at the Olympics.
