Biografia

Albert Wiggins swam for The Ohio State University, winning NCAA titles in the 150 yard individual medley in 1955 and the 200 yard individual medley in 1956. Wiggins won eight AAU titles – outdoors in the 100 and 200 metre backstroke in 1954, the 100 metre butterfly in 1956-57; and indoors in the 100 yard freestyle in 1957, the 100 yard backstroke in 1956, and the 100 fly in 1956-57. This made him the first American to win AAU titles in three different strokes.

After college, Wiggins attended Harvard Law School and started a law career in Pittsburgh with Reed Smith Shaw & McClay. After a divorce and a re-marriage to one of his partners, Wiggins and his wife, Hollis, opened a private firm specializing in tax and estate law. In 1994 Wiggins was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame.
