Pua Kela KEALOHA

Pua Kealoha, finished second to his fellow Hawaiian, the Duke, in the 100m freestyle at the 1920 Olympics and then joined Duke Kahanamoku on the world record breaking relay team. Pua Kealoha won his only AAU championship in 1921 when the 100y event was held in Honolulu harbor. His only competition was Warren Kealoha, no known relation, and Pua’s time of 53.0 equalled the world record. It is often written that Pua and Warren Kealoha were brothers but they were not, and research has not found any direct relationship between the two.
