경력

Lundberg's career spanned a quarter of a century, with the best results coming in the first years after the war. In 1946, he won the first, still unofficial, post-war World Championships in Oslo, becoming recognized champion two years later. He added two more podium places in subsequent years, as well as a third place in the 1948 European Championships. A real allrounder, he did not particularly excel in a single distance, which may have prevented him from becoming Olympic champion. He did take home two medals from the 1948 Games, coming second in the 5000 m and third in the 1500 m. Lundberg's only national title came in 1948. He had also scored the best points total in 1947, but had to leave the title to Henry Wahl, who became champion on account of three distance wins, two of which were shared with Lundberg. Lundberg's last national championship participation came in 1961, when he was 43 years old and failed to qualify for the fourth distance.

Personal Bests: 500 – 43.4 (1949); 1500 – 2:18.2 (1949); 5000 – 8:14.5 (1958); 10000 – 17:10.5 (1958).
