경력

Jutta Weber was a West German freestyle swimmer who won a bronze medal with the 4x100 freestyle relay squad at the 1972 München Olympics. However, she was eliminated in the heats of the 100 and the 200 m freestyle. Nevertheless, in winning her heat she was the first West German female swimmer under one minute (59.72) in the 100 m freestyle in that competition. Despite winning her heat, she ended up being classified ninth overall. With the medley relay team, she swam in the heat, but was not brought in for the final, when the squad won the bronze medal. Four years later in Montréal, Weber finished eighth in both the 100 m freestyle and 4x100 freestyle relay, but missed the final in the 200 m.

With the medley relay squads, Weber won the silver medal at the 1974 Vienna European Championships, and the bronze medal at the Jönköping Europeans four year later. She also won two relay bronze medals, at the 1973 Belgrade World Championships. Weber won national titles at both 100 and 200 m freestyle in 1972-73, 1975-76, and in 1977 added another 100 m title.

Jutta Weber later studied medicine and became a general practitioner at Wiesbaden. She married teammate Folkert Meeuw and their son Helge became an Olympic medalist, as was his future wife Antje Buschschulte.
