Jennison Heaton was one of three brothers from a wealthy New Haven, Connecticut family who spent much of their time in Europe. The brothers, Jennison, Jack, and the non-Olympian, Trowbridge, were enthusiastic supporters of bobsiedding and of the Cresta Run in particular. In the 1930-31 season they donated the Heaton Cup which is one of the most sought after trophies of the St. Moritz Tobogganing Club. Although Jennison was not considered to be as accomplished a rider as younger brother, Jack, it was Jennison who won the 1928 Olympic title with Jack taking the silver medal. Jennison Heaton later married Beulah Fiske, becoming the brother-in-law of Olympic sledder Billy Fiske).
