경력

Imre Mudin went to Arad to study civil engineering and teaching. Graduating in 1911 he took a teaching position at a boy’s school in Nagyatad where he taught mathematics, physics, and natural history. Mudin competed for the Magyar Atlétikai Klub, primarily as a weight thrower, and competed in those events at both the 1908 and 1912 Olympics. His brother, István, was also a weight thrower who competed at the 1906 and 1908 Olympics.

Mudin was commissioned into the 101st Infantry Regiment in August 1914. He was awarded the Silver Bravery Medal 1st Class in 1915. Only a month before the end of World War I, and only 3 months after his brother was killed in action, Mudin was killed by a sniper. His body was never recovered. In the brothers’ honor, a sports hall in Ketegyhaze was named for them in 2008.

Personal Bests: SP – 14.08 (1914); DT – 42.72 (1916); JT – 56.90 (1912).
