경력

Heinz Kohlhaas competed for Germany as a heavyweight boxer at the 1932 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Returning to Germany, he won several small tournaments for Germany, and served as a physical training instructor in the German Army, and as a sparring partner to Max Schmeling, but in 1935, Kohlhaas emigrated to the United States and began a professional boxing career, with very little success. In a two-year career his record was 3 wins and 10 losses, and this was against 13 fighters of no great significance.

He fought professionally as Hans Kohlhaas, although he apparently registered in the US as Henry Kohlhaas. Kohlhaas worked as a longshoreman in Jersey City and Hoboken, New Jersey, but while living in Newark, in March 1942, Kohlhaas was questioned by FBI agents about a possible Nazi background. Not much is known about what became of this, but he stayed in the United States and eventually settled in New Hampshire.
