Frithjof Paulsen had a long speed skating career and was a typical long-distance skater. He won the 10,000 m race in the Norwegian allround championships twice (1918 and 1920) and the 5,000 m once (1918), with his best allround placing a silver medal in 1920. His best international championship result was placing seventh at the 1923 European Championships, when he placed third in both the 5 and 10K.
Personal Bests: 500 – 46.9 (1920); 1500 – 2:26.0 (1920); 5000 – 8:40.7 (1920); 10000 – 18:03.8 (1923).
