경력

Dénes Pócsik swam on the Hungarian national water polo team from 1960-72, earning 86 caps. He helped Hungary to three Olympic water polo medals, a gold in 1964, bronze in 1968, and silver in 1972. He also won gold medals at the 1962, 1963, and 1965 European Championships, and the 1963 and 1965 Universiade. Pócsik was also a top swimmer, winning a bronze medal in the 400 IM at the 1959 Hungarian Championships.

After his playing career ended, Pócsik turned to coaching. He started club coaching with SE Eger from 1974-78. He was then national head coach for Kuwait from 1978-81 and 1984-87, working with the Netherlands from 1981-84. In 1990 he returned to SE Eger and he then coached the Hungarian women and the Australian national team. He settled in Australia in 1995, only returning to Hungary a few years before he died.
