경력

Arthur Gibbon finished second to Charlie Moss in the 1911 Bath RC 100-mile race, and shortly afterwards finished third in the Anerley BC 12-hour race behind Freddie Grubb and Charlie Davey. Selected as a reserve for the England road race team for the Stockholm Olympics, Gibbon was called into the squad as a late replacement for Harold Cook, who was unable to make the trip. After the Olympics, Gibbon, and Vegetarian Cycle Club team-mate A. G. Hoath, set a new Southern 12-hour tandem record of 228.5 miles (368 km). Their record stood until 1924. Just before World War I, Gibbon finished third in the Catford Open ‘50’ at Redhill, and once the hostilities were underway, he served as a corporal with the Royal Flying Corps.
