Biografia

William Scott was the winner of the AAA 10 miles in 1911-12, the Northern 4 miles from 1910-12, and the Northern 10 miles in 1911-12. He finished second in the AAA 4 miles in three consecutive years 1910-12, losing to Olympians Albert Hill, Hannes Kolehmainen and George Hutson respectively. He also finished second in the National cross-country in 1911 and represented England in the International cross-country race four times (1910-13), finishing second in 1912. Scott was a member of the winning England team on all four occasions, and never finished below ninth in the individual race. Scott started his career at Broughton Harriers before joining Salford Harriers in 1912.

Personal Bests: 3 miles – 14:57.6 (1911); 5000 – 15:20.0 (1912); 6 miles – 30:47.6 (1912); 10000 – 31:57.5 (1912).
