Biografia

One of the high points of Werner Seibold’s career was definitely at the 1976 Olympics, where Seibold, a relatively unknown shooter, who hadn’t won even a national title yet, won a surprising bronze medal in small-bore rifle, three positions. Seibold missed the 1980 Olympics due to the boycott and finished only 25th at the 1984 Olympics in small-bore rifle, prone. At the World Championships, Seibold won one gold and five silver medals. He was World team air rifle champion in 1978, won silvers in team small-bore rifle, prone in 1978 and 1982, in team small-bore rifle, three positions in 1978, in team small-bore rifle, standing in 1978, and in team small-bore rifle, kneeling in 1978. At the European Championships, Seibold won one gold, seven silver and three bronze medals, winning the 1978 European team air rifle title. After finishing his sporting career, Seibold worked as a shooting coach in his home town of Bad Wiessee.
