Mary Anne MARCHINO

Mary Anne Marchino was the daughter of Elmer Marchino, who was a big supporter and administrator of swimming both in Indianapolis and at the national level. Mary Anne swam for the Indianapolis Athletic Club and Indiana University. She placed second seven times in AAU backstroke events, unable to defeat the era’s world best backstroker, Carin Cone.
