Biografia

Jack Nielsen played at the 1920 and 1924 Olympics, making the quarter-finals in men’s doubles in 1920. Nielsen was a chemical engineer with a degree from the Dresden University of Technology. He spent his entire career as a chemist and brewmaster at various beer breweries, retiring in 1966. During this time he led several regional brewery labor unions, and he served as governor of Rotary International in 1963-64. Nielsen was also president of the Norwegian Tennis Federation and the Oslo Tennis Club for several years.

Nielsen was a six-time Norwegian champion. He played Davis Cup for Norway in three ties in 1929-31, but never managed to win a match. Nielsen won the 1930 West German mixed doubles title, partnered by Denmark’s Else Støckel.
