Hermann Tunner was a multiple Austrian champion, winning in the long jump (1941), shot put (1941-42), discus throw (1940-42, 1947-51, 1953-55), and decathlon (1937). He finished 11th at the 1948 London Olympics in the discus. During the Anschluss of Austria to the German Reich he came in third at the 1939 German Championships.
