Biografia

His Olympic silver medal in Los Angeles also brought Hans Ziglarski the European title as the best-placed European. He earned the silver medal after losing in the final against Canadian Lefty Gwynne. Ziglarski started boxing in München and then went to Berlin, where he competed for various clubs. In 1928 he was German champion as a bantamweight and fought in 18 international meetings. At the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics he lost his second round bout.

After his active career, Ziglarski became a youth sports officer in the boxing section of Berlin’s sports administration and coached boxing. Initially, he worked as a hotel employee, and then later a warehouse clerk. After World War II, Ziglarski came to Teheran and coached the Iranian boxer Emanoul “Mike” Aghasi, father of future tennis star Andre Agassi.
