Biografia

Hans Eder was born in Austria and competed for that nation at the 1952 Winter Olympics. He was an all-rounder in Nordic skiing, but specialized in ski jumping. On a ski flying hill in Oberstdorf, Germany, he was the first man in the world to surpass 130 metres. Eder emigrated to Canada in November 1952, settling in Ontario. He and his wife purchased and operated the Snow Valley Ski Resort in Barrie, Ontario for almost 30 years. He later retired to British Columbia and Florida, where he spent his time playing golf.
