Biografia

Eino Rastas was born in the small village of Selänpää in the Valkeala municipality. He competed in three Olympic Games from 1920 through 1928. In Antwerpen he placed 18th in the individual cross-country but was a non-scoring member of the Finnish team, which won the gold medal. In Paris Rastas had to retire from the race, when the Finnish team repeated the victory. His only appearance in Amsterdam was in the marathon, placing 14th. At home he was more successful, winning three Finnish Championships: the 1917 and 1922 10,000 metres, and the 1922 5,000 metres. In the same events he had another six podium places at Finnish Championships. Rastas worked for the railway as senior conductor.

Personal Bests: 5000 – 15:00.6 (1926); Mar – 2-40:40 (1928).
