Connie SMOTEK

Connie Fluker-Smotek competed twice in skeet shooting at the Olympics, over a span of 12 years, from 1992 to 2004. She started shooting at age 14 at the Brazos Valley Skeet & Trap Club in College Station, Texas. She was also the first female member of the 4-H shooting club in College Station. During her career she won 11 medals at international meets, including silvers in 1986 and 1999, and a bronze in 1995, at the World Championships. She was a gold medalist at World Cup meets in 2004 and 2006, and was on the US National team from 1982-95 and 1998-2004. Fluker-Smotek was US Champion in skeet in 1993-95 and 2001-02. At the 1992 Mexico World Cup, she set a skeet world record of 196 of 200.

Fluker-Smotek graduated from Texas A&M University in 1986 with a degree in animal science. She started working for Texas A&M as an administrative assistant in the department of agricultural economics in 1995.
