Charles Lyon competed in the one-person dinghy event at the 1932 Olympics, the only time it was raced in Snowbird yachts, sometimes called the Olympic Monotype class. Lyon represented the Los Angeles Yacht Club. He actually only competed in 9 of the 11 races, as he was replaced in races 4 and 5 by Joseph Jessup. Lyon grew up in California but later lived and died in Lake Worth, Florida.
