Biografia

Alex Rousseau was born in France but played water polo for the United States at the 1992 and 1996 Olympics. As a child, his family moved to Canada and then to Southern California, with Rousseau becoming a US citizen in 1985. He competed at UCLA from 1985-89 and led the Bruins to the 1989 NCAA Championship game. Rouseau earned over 175 caps for the United States including winning a gold medal at the 1991 Universiade and the 1995 Pan American Games.

Rousseau played internationally from 1990-93 with CN Marseille in France, and from 1997-99 with Lazio Nuoto in Roma. Because of his background, and his international play, Rousseau was fluent in English, French, Spanish, and Italian. He also did some modeling, appeared in Sports Illustrated’s 1994 swimsuit issue, was on television in “Baywatch,” and was on the May 1996 cover of Vanity Fair magazine. Rousseau worked as a Los Angeles County Beach Lifeguard, but later settled into the financial world, working as an equity trader with Jones Trading Company.
