Biografia

The son of a Nigerian father and English mother, Alan Tottoh earned his place at the Mexico City Olympics by winning the ABA (Amateur Boxing Association) championships in May 1968. He lost a close decision in his first Olympic bout and turned professional upon returning home to England. Tottoh’s career as a pro did not flourish and he retired from the ring in 1974 after winning ten of his eighteen bouts. He continued to coach amateur boxers in his native Manchester until shortly before his death from cancer.
