Werner MENSCHING

West German figure skater Werner Mensching from Hannover finished seventh at the 1960 Squaw Valley Olympic Games, together with his partner and later wife Rita Blumenberg in the pairs event. They also placed ninth at the Worlds in 1960. At the Europeans they finished fifth (1959), eleventh (1960), fourth (1961) and ninth (1962). At the West German nationals the pair claimed a second place in 1958 and third places in 1959-62. The pair also competed at roller skating events and won the 1958 World Championships.
