Sylvanus Blackman had the following podium finishes at major championships: 2nd in the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games Light-Heavyweight class (850 pounds), 2nd in the 1966 British Empire and Commonwealth Games Light-Heavyweight class (914.5 pounds). In the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games he competed for Barbados, but in 1966 he represented England.
