बायोग्राफी

Jean-Yves Cuendet began his Nordic combined skiing career in 1990 and had his greatest international success at the 1994 Winter Olympics, where he won a bronze medal in the team event with Andreas Schaad and Swiss Nordic combined hero Hippolyt Kempf. Cuendet also placed seventh individually and had his only World Cup podium finish, third, this year in the 15 km event. The following year he won another bronze medal in the team competition at the World Championships (now a four-man event) alongside Markus Wüst and the non-Olympians Armin Krugel and Stefan Wittwer. Cuendet returned to the Olympics in 1998 with Andy Hartmann, Urs Kunz, and Marco Zarucchi, but the quartet only managed seventh place and Cuendet was 17th individually. He retired after the Games and entered the University of Fribourg, from where he eventually earned a degree in economics. As of the 2010s, he was working as a marketing manager in the watchmaking industry. He has also remained active in sports administration and judging.
