Jacques Lebrun took part in five Olympic Games between 1932 and 1960, missing only the 1956 Melbourne Games for financial reasons. He was also a boat designer and later technical director of the national association. During World War II he helped to hide a large number of works of art from the Louvre from the German troops and thus became known in the art world. His family had a framing business.
