बायोग्राफी

Glennys Bakker began curling in earnest in 1988 and spent the majority of her 18 year career with Shannon Kleibrink’s rink (team). In 1993 she was the team’s alternate when they won the Alberta Provincial Championships and she had moved up to the position of third when they were runners-up at the 1997 Olympic trials. After a long drought of success that ended when she captured the 2004 Alberta Provincial Championships, Bakker ended up as the last remaining member on Team Kleibrink from the 1997 trials, now playing second, other than Kleibrink herself. The rink was more successful at the 2005 Olympic trials, despite starting off with a 1-3 record, and they earned themselves the right to represent Canada at the 2006 Winter Olympics after winning seven games in a row. At the curling tournament they took home a bronze medal against a field of strong competitors. She left Team Kleibrink shortly after the Olympics in order to spend more time with her family. Outside of curling she works as a legal assistant in Calgary, Alberta.
