Ferenc Kiss competed at three Olympic Games as a wrestler, highlighted by winning the heavyweight Greco-Roman bronze medal in 1972. Kiss was a two-time European Champion, winning in Greco at 97 kg in 1967-68. He was also runner-up at 100 kg at the 1970 Europeans. Kiss won two silver medals at the World Championships in Greco-Roman, in 1965 and 1970. Near the end of his career Kiss earned a coaching diploma and was coach of the BVSC after his competitive days were over. In 1987 he was awarded a master coaching title and shortly before his death, was awarded the Knight’s Cross of Hungary.
