Edmond Wallace learned to fence alongside his brother, Richard Wallace. The two also competed in the individual épée event at the 1900 Paris Olympics. Edmond Wallace was commissioned into the 89e Régiment d’Infanterie in 1897 and remained with them into World War I. He was wounded in the battle of the Butte de Vauquois in February 1915 and eventually died from his wounds.
