Biographie

Vitold Kreyer was the next top Soviet triple jumper after Leonid Shcherbakov in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Kreyer competed at three consecutive Olympics, winning Olympic bronzes in 1956 and 1960, but not qualifying for the final in 1964. Kreyer also competed at the 1958 and 1962 European Championships, but did not make the final at either event. Kreyer was a Soviet Champion in 1960-61. Kreyer worked as an athletics coach after finishing his sports career. He was the personal coach of three-time Olympic triple jump champion Viktor Saneyev and from 1967-80 was head coach of the Soviet national athletics team. Kreyer was coach of the Soviet Olympic team from 1968-80 and coached the 2000 Russian Olympic team. He later worked as a coach of jumping disciplines for the Soviet and Russian national teams.
