Biographie

Timo Grönlund was a Finnish sprint canoer who won 85 national championships during his career. Grönlund represented Finland at four consecutive Olympics; 1976 Montréal, 1980 Moskva, 1984 Los Angeles, and 1988 Seoul. His best result was a fourth-place finish in the C-1 1,000 metres at the Los Angeles Games. Also in Los Angeles, he finished in fifth place in the C-1 500 metres. Outside of the Olympics Grönlund finished in fourth place at the 1983 World Championships.

Grönlund was killed in a traffic accident after the car he was driving was involved in a head-on collision with a heavy vehicle at a road intersection.
