Biographie

Sergio Reyes, Jr. was the 1988 US Golden Gloves bantamweight champion and won the US amateur title in that class in 1990-91. After the Barcelona Olympics, Reyes turned professional, making his début in January 1993 in a bout against Chris Gomez, which Reyes won by decision. Reyes fought for two major titles, the IBF World Bantamweight title in October 1994 against Orlando Canizales, and the IBA World Featherweight title in November 1996, also against Canizales, coming out both times on the losing side. Reyes did win the USBA Bantamweight crown in March 1995, but lost it in his first defense. Reyes retired in October 1999, but came back in August 2006 for one more bout, a losing effort. He finished with a pro career record of 14 wins (4 by KO) and 5 losses.
