Biographie

Robert Howard competed twice at the Olympics in the triple jump, after starring in that event for the University of Arkansas. He was NCAA Champion in 1996, 97, and 98. He was US Champion and won the Olympic Trials in 2000. Howard later attended medical school, and then began a residency in neurosurgery. In 2004, he committed suicide by jumping out a dormitory window at the University of Arkansas. Police had been called but could not prevent him from jumping, and it was then found that his wife had been stabbed and murdered, and it was suspected that Howard had done that prior to his own death.
