Biographie

Ramona Pagel was a shot putter who attended San Diego State and Cal State Long Beach. She represented the United States 20 times in major internationals, including three Olympic appearances, and numerous dual meets. She competed at the Pan American Games in 1987, 1991, and 1995, winning gold in the shot in 1987, bronze in 1991, and silver in 1995. She was also on the US Team for the World Championships in 1991, 1993, and 1995, and won a bronze medal in the shot at the 1985 Universiade. During her career, Pagel won four TAC Outdoor Championships and seven Indoor Championships with the shot. She married former UCLA shot putter Kent Pagel and became a college track coach at Kent State.

Personal Bests: SP – 66-2½ (20.18) (1988); DT – 203-2 (61.92) (1987); JT – 150-2 (45.77) (1984).
