Biographie

Petr Kop won two Olympic medals in volleyball, with a silver in 1964 and a bronze in 1968. He was named to the Czechoslovak national team in 1962, after playing with the junior team since 1954. His other international medals include a gold medal at the 1966 World Championships, a silver at the 1967 European Championships, and a bronze at the inaugural World Cup in 1965 in Poland. He played for RH Praha most of his career, except for the 1961 season when he was with Dynamo.

Kop later became a volleyball coach, starting in 1971, and working with the Czechoslovakian women’s team from 1974-79. He was a native of Praha who graduated from the School of Mechanics and became a designer by profession. He was awarded the Merited Master of Sports and Merited Coach award in Czechoslovakia.
