In 1912, Peter Dolfen was from the hotbed of American pistol shooting, Springfield, Massachusetts. Besides his two medal winning performances at the Olympics, Dolfen finished 16th in the dueling, or rapid-fire, pistol event. Dolfen worked for over 40 years for the Milton Bradley Company, serving 30 years as a foreman with that company. He fought in the Spanish-American War, serving in the Philippines, and also saw service in the Boxer Rebellion in China. Dolfen was a member of the Springfield Revolver Club, and was made a life member a few years before his death.
