Biographie

Paul Chocque was successful on the track, the road, and in cyclo-cross. At the 1932 Olympics he won the silver medal on the track in team pursuit, also winning a bronze medal at the 1932 Amateur World Championships in the road race. From 1933-49 Chocque competed as a professional for various teams. At his second participation in the Tour de France in 1937, he placed seventh and won two stages. He had also a number of good results in classical road races, such as winning 1936 Bordeaux-Paris and placing fourth at 1937 Paris-Tours. In 1936 and 1938 Chocque was French Champion in cyclo-cross. He died at the age of 39 after a fall during a motor-paced race at the Parc des Princes in Paris.
